XAT 2010 Notification & Important Dates

Step 1: Registration for Admission Test – XAT 2010

Candidate interested in taking XAT has to first register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. After successfully completing the registration, the candidate has to download the XAT Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount of Rs. 800/- is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XAT bulletin 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given inside the bulletin is to be filled-up and sent to XAT office along with the XLRI's copy of XAT Pay-in slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the bulletin).

Alternatively, one can register for XAT after obtaining a demand draft (DD). A candidate has to first make a non-refundable DD for Rs. 850/- drawn in favour of 'XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT' payable at Jamshedpur and then register for XAT at www.xlri.edu. He/she then has to send the XAT PP Form (that is to be downloaded after registering for XAT) along with the DD to XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001. The XAT office will dispatch the bulletin to the candidate on receiving the form and demand draft.

Step 2: Registration for Academic Programmes offered at XLRI

Two year Post Graduate Programmes in (i) Business Management (ii) Personnel Management and Industrial Relations

Eligibility: Candidate who has completed three years of Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2010 may also apply

One year General Management Programme

Eligibility: Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad. He/she should be employed in a full-time job and must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience as on March 31, 2010 after completion of graduation

Four year Fellow Programme in Management

Eligibility: Candidate should have a Master's degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university or deemed university in India/abroad with three years of work experience or CA/ICWA/CS with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and three years of work experience or a BE/B.Tech degree or its equivalent with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) and four years of work experience

XLRI Registration

After registering for XAT, a candidate should register for XLRI's programme(s) at www.xlri.edu. After successfully registering for XLRI, the candidate has to download the XLRI Pay-in-slip. A non-refundable amount (refer table below for the amount) is to be tendered along with the pay-in-slip to obtain XLRI Prospectus 2010 from select branches of Axis Bank (listed below). The detachable form given in the prospectus has to be filled-up and sent to Admission Office along with the XLRI's copy of XLRI pay-in-slip (that was signed and sealed by Axis Bank at the time of buying the prospectus)

The admission office will dispatch the prospectus to the candidate on receiving the form and demand draft.

The cost of the prospectus depends on the number of programme(s) applied for and is as follows

For one programme, by paying cash at bank, for general candidates – Rs. 900/-, for SC/ST candidates – Rs. 600/-, through DD from admission office, for general candidates – Rs. 950/-, for SC/ST candidates – Rs. 650/-

For more than one but maximum of three programmes, by paying cash at bank, for general candidates – Rs. 1500/-, for SC/ST candidates – Rs. 1100/-, through DD from admission office, for general candidates – Rs. 1550/-, for SC/ST candidates – Rs. 1150/-

XAT is also used by more than 60 other Management Institutes for admission. Candidate has to apply separately to XAT associate institute after completing their XAT registration process.

XAT bulletin and XLRI prospectus will be available from Axis Bank XAT office/admission office after online registration from 01 September, 2009 to 30 November 2009
